Problems of lung cancer in human body in many ways

Lung cancer is cancer that mostly affects the lungs, as well as the cells and surrounding tissues. Lung cancer is usually associated with tumors of which are either benign or malignant. Benign tumors are those that can be removed easily and usually are not cancerous. On the other hand, malignant tumors are those that are spread over a large area, cannot be removed easily, and require more advanced treatment. Although genetics play a major role in lung cancer, smoking and exposure to harsh chemicals have been known to introduce carcinogens into the lungs. Lung cancer, like many other types of cancers, affects both men and women equally worldwide. According to the U.S. National Cancer Institute, approximately one out of every fourteen men and women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer of the lung or airways at some point in their lifetime Studies show that lung cancer was the leading cause of cancer related death in 2007. These statistics and facts show that lung cancer is not something to be joked around with. Decreasing pollution and smoking habits could reduce the death toll of lung cancer dramatically.
